Jessie Aru-Phillips

Jessie Aru-Phillips is creator and lead presenter on the multi-award-winning BBC podcast The Sista Collective – the BBC’s first home-grown podcast led and hosted by black British women.  She is also Senior Sports Social Media Editor at The Telegraph and Saturday breakfast presenter on BBC Radio Merseyside. Initially starting out working at BBC London Sport and Sport Online, Jessie went on to produce and present on BBC Commonwealth Games Radio. She then moved on to present a children’s show on BBC 7 now Radio 4 Extra.  Following working as a producer on 5 Live’s Simon Mayo Show and Up All Night Jessie worked as a broadcaster for British Forces Broadcasting where she reported and lived in Kuwait, Gibraltar, Belize, The Falkland Islands, and Afghanistan, while there she co-hosted and presented an award-winning 12-hour non-stop takeover on BFBS and BBC Radio 1.
