Anna joined DMA in 2009 and heads up their recently opened Liverpool office. An experienced architect, she has worked with both public and private sector clients helping them to create uplifting spaces for living, learning and working on the most challenging of sites. She particularly enjoys working with the different stakeholders, developing trusting and collaborative relationships to draw out everyone’s expertise to achieve the best design solution; an approach that leads to high levels of end-user satisfaction. This has been particularly important on the project that she is leading with Claire House Children’s Hospice, helping the team there to create vital new facilities within their former monastery site in West Derby. Sharing DMA’s belief that the practice should be a force for good beyond the project brief, Anna is also an ambassador for the social enterprise PLACED, that works across the North West to engage and inspire people to make better places. She was instrumental in the development of DMA’s Virtual Design Academy, an online week-long work experience for school age students that is designed to make architecture a more accessible profession, and she regularly uses her skills on a pro bono basis to help make local projects possible, the most recent being a new outdoor classroom at the Barnstondale Centre on the Wirral.
