The Good Business Festival along with our partners will host a drop in business support clinic in the TGBF Hub everyday between 10am and 12pm.  Open to all TGBF Festival and Tuesday 22nd Day Pass holders.

Day 1 Clinic Schedule

  • University of Liverpool: Virtual Engineering Centre (VEC)
VEC accelerate the sustainable growth of SMEs and support them to develop new strategies, products and services using advanced digital technologies.  The VEC are lead partners for the LCR4 START, LCR4.0 Holistic and C&W 4.0 Projects, supporting SMEs through their digital transformation.
VEC can help signpost investment opportunities as well as giving access to their facilities, expertise, the latest emerging R&D and manufacturing techniques to SME foster innovation.


  • University of Liverpool: Careers / funded internships
Linked to the launch of LCR Grad Scheme, this session will explore the opportunities for connecting graduates in the Liverpool City Region with local SMEs.


  • Liverpool John Moores University: Leadership for Growth Consultancy
Aimed at employees from micro-enterprises (1-9 employees) and from small and medium enterprises. (10 – 249 employees and turnover less than £43 million) as well as those individuals that are currently excluded (e.g. carers) from realising their management and leadership potential in the workplace.
The aim is to upskill people currently fulfilling, or with the future potential to undertake higher level management and leadership roles to improve productivity and growth.  Under-represented groups are actively encouraged to participate.


  • Liverpool John Moores University: Legal Advice Centre Consultancy
LJMU’s School of Law are offering a free Legal Advice Centre open to members of the public, staff and students.  The clinics provide free legal advice to individuals and businesses, either verbally or in writing after an interview.
The commercial legal advice clinics aim to assist those organisations would otherwise struggle to access commercial legal advice.
Areas of law covered include; Dispute Resolution Advice, Debt recovery/collection Advice, GDPR/Data Protection Advice, Intellectual Property Advice, Commercial Contracts/Terms and Conditions Advice, Shareholder Agreements Advice and many more.


  • Liverpool Hope University: Starting on your business sustainability assessment: People, Purpose, Planet and Profit” with Dr Tony Bradley.
Tony is an experienced business consultant, with 25 years experience of working with and running his own businesses. He is an expert on sustainability and has developed the Business Sustainability Cycle, which helps businesses to practically address 360 degree sustainability, and place the challenges of “Net Zero” in the context of the everyday realities of the business environment.


  • Edge Hill University: Harnessing data-driven approaches for sustainable and profitable sales demand.
Discussion and case studies on how to utilise internal data to drive sustainable business growth.
Led by Associate Director or Business Development Manager of Edge Hill’s SME Productivity & Innovation Centre.


  • Dave Verburg: “Good Business Festival Hands On Session”
Get your own answers to your current business challenges by your peers. People who have been there, faced the same challenges, and have come out the other side to tell the tale.
Dave Verburg will host ‘Mission Success’ sessions from 10am-12pm offering SME’s time to be listened to, be understood, be challenged, and become more able to move your business forward.
The session will consist of Dave Verburg and two or three of his clients who have been though the Action Learning process offering support to SME’s.

Supporting the accountability part of being a ‘good SME’, Be Ethical Training are on a mission to show our wonderful small business community how to run successful ethical practises in-house, giving you practical advice and tools to also track, measure and report on your impact to future proof your business.


  • Gather (Form) Networking
Gather would like to invite students, graduates, and anyone looking for a career change, to connect with industry professionals from Liverpool’s creative, digital, and tech businesses.
Gather will be hosting an informal drop-in session to support tomorrow’s talent to gain valuable insight into creative and digital careers, tips to secure your dream role, portfolio reviews, jobs you never knew existed, and plenty of fun, chats, and goodies to take away.
