Liverpool World Centre’s vision is for a just and sustainable world.
They believe learning about global issues and adopting innovative thinking and methods empowers us all to work for a fairer society.
Their mission is to be a catalyst for positive social change through work with teachers and schools, higher education institutions, other organisations and local communities.
The centre offers engaging workshops, events and training and like to do things in an open, participatory way allowing the people they work with to have their voices heard.
Work focuses on issues such as climate change, globalisation and sustainable development, aiming to foster:
- Critical and creative thinking
- Self-awareness and open-mindedness towards difference
- Understanding of global issues and the impact of actions on others
- Optimism and action for a better world
At the Get Up & Goals website you can find a range of creative film resources that students can use to create action campaigns on climate and social justice, with contributions from artists including Levi Tafari and Handlebards: www.guag.liverpoolworldcentre.org/student-action-resources
