We live in a data driven society; so why do so much of our facts, figures and algorithms exclude women?
No data equals no voice and exclusion. Male dominated data has contributed to a male dominated world with everything we do, see and touch based on a male perspective and women live in a world that is not made for them. We have phones that are too big for women’s hands, work in offices with biased temperature controls, women are more likely to be injured in a car accident due to car designs based on typical male measurements, are 50% more likely to be misdiagnosed following a heart attack and voice recognition software is 70% more likely to recognise male voices instead of women’s. So what does the latest data show and what can business do to close the gender data gap?
